Yes, that’s right guys, after a few days of speculation and nervous tension, we can exclusively announce that 2-time British Touring Car Champion and current championship leader; Matt Neal will be joining the Ameon Racing Team for the build up to rounds 3 and 4 of the 2011 Time Attack series at Brands Hatch on the 25-26th June.

Matt will spend the day at the circuit in a special test session on the Friday before the action kicks off, passing on the knowledge he has gathered over the years that has enabled him to be so successful and be sitting pretty at the top of the BTCC in his usual car; the Honda Civic. Matt will be out in the Ameon Evo, both as a driver and passenger, coaching Rob Cowling as to the correct lines around the Kent motorsport venue’s Indy Circuit, taking in lines for both wet and dry laps.

Now, as you can imagine, this has created a great deal of excitement in the Garage Awesome camp, but one man who couldn’t be more excited is Matt’s latest protégé; Rob!

I am so excited, I don’t think I will be able to sleep until the event comes round! Matt is a total legend and Ameon Racing are so lucky to have his experience on board, I just hope I can soak in the information over my nerves and make a successful weekend for the team & Sponsors

Matt will be following in the footsteps of both Matt Allison and Phil Glew who have previously been involved with both the BTCC and Time Attack, and we can only see this as yet another positive move for Time Attack fans and the series as a whole with such a big name becoming involved. We can’t wait, and make no excuses for getting over excited not only for a chance to chat with Matt, but the whole weekend at Brands Hatch in general!
